Qnuk level 3 award in responding to incidents with an aed

OVERVIEW

Heart and circulatory disease claims around 200,000 lives each year. Many could have been saved if a defibrillator was made available.

This qualification is typically delivered over a half day, or as a bolt on to a full first aid course. The intention is for learners to be able to use an AED with confidence. They will also understand the correct use, storage and maintenance.

This is perfect for those who have an AED on their workplace.

Key points 

Regulated qualification, written to UK Resuscitation Council protocols. 3 guided learning hours (1/2 day), with 5 total hours qualification time. Valid for one year with certification included. Assessed by MCQs and practical observation.

 

Syllabus

This qualification has been developed to meet the recognised training requirements and has been written to the UK Resuscitation Council Protocols.

A range of subjects are covered including:-
• Primary Survey
• Recovery Position
• Adult CPR
• Child/Drowning Adult CPR (as appropriate)
• Safety Considerations
• Safe use of the AED
• Handing over to the Emergency Services
